It’s August 16, 2022. Welcome to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). I will be posting each day’s word just after midnight Pacific Time (U.S.).
Today’s word is “mosquito.”
Write a post using that word. It can be prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction. It can be any length. It can be just a picture or a drawing if you want. No holds barred, so to speak.
Once you are done, tag your post with #FOWC and create a pingback to this post if you are on WordPress. Please check to confirm that your pingback is there. If not, please manually add your link in the comments.
And be sure to read the posts of other bloggers who respond to this prompt. Show them some love.

ODE TO MOSQUITO
Mosquito (me) hates dubstep
Music (dj decks)
Stops me wanting yummy blood
Stops me wanting sex
It says shit to dubstep Fan……
Scientists say aggressive vibrations confuses them. Upsets their sex drive……
Dubstep? Electronic dance music…boom boom boom (subwoofer Fan). Would upset my sex drive too……

ODE TO THE MOSQUITO
How can such a little thing
Be so damn annoying?
Flying round my face and head
It’s bothersome and cloying.
Who would think that little guy
Could be such a bloody sucker?
When he sticks his fangs in me
I scream “You Motherf*#+er!”
The end. 🦟

I cannot sleep
because of their buzz.
It’s no use to weep
or even to cuss.
They like my sweat.
They fly through my net.
And in the morning I’ll scratch
more than one angry patch.
They ignore all my vetoes.
A POX ON ALL THOSE STUPID MOSQUITOES!
