Di, host of Pensivity101, is standing in for Melanie, of Sparks from a Combustible Mind, for today’s Truthful Tuesday prompt. This week Di wants to know…
Would you be bothered having a Chinese/Indian/Chippie/Pizza or similar on your doorstep or would you enjoy the convenience of having a takeaway outlet within walking distance.
When we lived in San Francisco, we were within walking distance (one to four blocks) of any kind of restaurant you could imagine. So yes, I did enjoy the convenience of being able to walk to dozens of restaurants for carry out/takeaway food.
Since we moved to the East Bay, though, there are no restaurants within walking distance of our home. If I want takeaway food, I either have to drive my car or hop on my ebike to pick it up, or order it online for delivery to my doorstep. Hence, these days we rely on food delivery services like DoorDash and GrubHub to deliver such foods. And no, I am not bothered by that at all.
There’s nothing within 3 miles of here, so it’s delivery or pickup. And not a problem. I just wish the food was better.

Yeah. The question didn’t ask about quality.
