Weekend Writing Prompt — In the Year 2022

2020 sucked.
2021 wasn’t much better.
I had high hopes for 2022.
That it might be a great year.
Or at least a good year.
Well, maybe just not a bad year.
But the first half of 2022
Has been a disappointment.
The trend isn’t promising.

(Exactly 46 words)

This rather glum piece was written for Sammi Cox’s Weekend Writing Prompt, where the word is “year.” Also for The Daily Spur (great) and Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (trend).

SoCS — Bagged

Linda G. Hill has given us the word “bagged” for this week’s Stream of Consciousness Saturday prompt. Now that’s an interesting word with a lot of different meanings.

I used to get my groceries bagged, but now I bag them myself because the baggers kept putting the bananas at the bottom of the bag.

I was half bagged (aka drunk) when I drove my car into the fire hydrant. Then the impact caused me to get air-bagged.

I bagged (aka had sex with) that girl Diana after everyone left the party.

“Would you like your laundered shirts boxed or on hangers and bagged?” the laundry proprietor wanted to know.

I didn’t get any sleep last night and I’m totally bagged-out today.

Okay, I think I’ve bagged it, don’t you? Or did I miss any ways to use the word “bagged”?

FOWC with Fandango — Trend

FOWC

It’s July 16, 2022. Welcome to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). I will be posting each day’s word just after midnight Pacific Time (U.S.).

Today’s word is “trend.”

Write a post using that word. It can be prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction. It can be any length. It can be just a picture or a drawing if you want. No holds barred, so to speak.

Once you are done, tag your post with #FOWC and create a pingback to this post if you are on WordPress. Please check to confirm that your pingback is there. If not, please manually add your link in the comments.

And be sure to read the posts of other bloggers who respond to this prompt. Show them some love.
