Do I Annoy You?

In this post today, blogger Renard Moreau suggested that some readers get annoyed by bloggers who post too often. Renard said that many WordPress bloggers have admitted to him that they would unfollow a blogger who publishes content on their blog numerous times a day. In fact, Renard said that “most WordPress bloggers tend to get highly annoyed whenever they see countless links to blog posts from the same blogger on their WordPress Reader.”

Yikes! I publish anywhere from three to six posts a day. Does that piss you off? Should I cut back to no more than one or two per day? Or is even that too many?

Renard did admit that “retirees that blog on WordPress have a different way of doing things.” I am retired, and as Renard pointed out, retirees “have more time on their hands, which usually results in them publishing at least two blog posts of their own, participating in prompts, and reblogging the blog posts of others daily.”

But if it’s true that people get annoyed by bloggers who post multiple times daily, would the fact that I’m a retiree annoy them less? Will they be less likely to unfollow me because I’m a prolific blogger who is retired and has nothing better to with his life?

Renard added, “In all fairness, each blogger in the blogosphere is entitled to publish content on their blog as often as they like.”

So my question to those of you who follow my blog or who just happened to stumble upon this post is simply this: do I annoy you by publishing multiple posts a day?

Weekend Writing Prompt — Outcry

There’s always a huge outcry after each incident

“Enough is enough!”

“Do something!”

“Stop the madness!”

But nothing changes
No matter how galvanizing it is
Those with the power
To do something
To stop the madness
Don’t give a whit what you and I think
They don’t care about the victims
They just follow the money
And send us their empty thoughts
And useless prayers

(Exactly 65 words)

SoCS — The Bounty Hunter

I’m a bounty hunter
I hunt criminals who skipped bail
I follow their trail wherever it leads me
I search high and low until I find them
And bring them back to stand trial
I get paid a nice fee, a tidy sum
I’m a bounty hunter
Just doing my job

Once you are done, tag your post with #FOWC and create a pingback to this post if you are on WordPress. Please check to confirm that your pingback is there. If not, please manually add your link in the comments.

And be sure to read the posts of other bloggers who respond to this prompt. Show them some love.
