FOWC with Fandango — Heat

FOWC

It’s May 8, 2022. Welcome to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). I will be posting each day’s word just after midnight Pacific Time (U.S.).

Today’s word is “heat.”

Write a post using that word. It can be prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction. It can be any length. It can be just a picture or a drawing if you want. No holds barred, so to speak.

Once you are done, tag your post with #FOWC and create a pingback to this post if you are on WordPress. Please check to confirm that your pingback is there. If not, please manually add your link in the comments.

And be sure to read the posts of other bloggers who respond to this prompt. Show them some love.

I always try to ensure my comments don’t excite the mind or feelings of your readers so as to not inflame them with a passion for future comments Fandango 🙂

Turning up the you know what offbeat!
It’s not that hard to rhyme with heat,
… Not that rhyme rhymes with ‘eet,
But heat itself is not that hard to greet,
With words that rhyme with heat!
Oh, worry not, l am not at all stuck with ‘eet,
Eet being a long and extended ‘IT’ and not just greeting heat!
With something strange off the heated eet sheet!
Or an even odder something trekked back from the street,
Where no eet or heat was met with off the concrete!
    … Which could be sweet,
    And even neat,
    By an athlete named Pete!
Who by all accounts was quite fleet …
…. footed! Which doesn’t rhyme with heat!
But not bleating about eet is the treat!

Hey my friend – yes l did eet – l was about to say you are up early or going to bed extremely late, but then realised you are probably not yet even on midnight Sunday whereas l am just approaching 7am Monday. So on that note sleep well, and have a great new week ahead 🙂

Thanks, Rory. It’s almost 11 pm here and I’m getting ready to call it a night. Have a great week, too!

I would like if I had heat on my face, as Rob hoped light for us all. I’m watching formula one racing on an enjoyable screen. Miami. Yes, I’d take that.
