SoCS — Who Knows?

For today’s Stream of Consciousness Saturday prompt, Linda G. Hill has asked us to write a post using “nose,” “noes,” and “knows” in it.

In one of my briefest SoCS posts ever…

The Senate was deadlocked with 50 ayes to 50 noes on the bill before them. It took the Vice President, in her role as President of the Senate, to cast an aye vote, thus enabling the bill to win by that proverbial nose. Now the bill will go to the President to sign it into law, but who knows how long it will take for him to do so.

I was halfway through the second episode of the second season when I wrote that post (the question). I had the very sense of darkness in hearts and shadows (those words before seeing this dialogue), preceding a meeting in the show. Right after I posted, a conversation that ensued came up with, “We gather you’re very well connected inside the Raven Union.” (The Raven Union is a fascist organization.)

            Response: “You gather correctly.”

            Thomas: “But…
Thomas: “You’re held at arms length, in the shadows.”

It’s a running up to story to Alfred. Who would you say is a most famous Alfred?

And I’ve been thinking, throughout the watching of the whole thing so far, that people can do well to be not so naive. (And yet also to be naive, instead, the makers nod. The thing, I think, is to be both.)

And, aside from all that, I’ve been taking pictures of sets.
