#WDYS — A Twisted, Tortured Soul

My sentence was to wear this black mask
They said it was to pay for my sins
To represent the darkness inside of me
Inside of my twisted, tortured soul, they said

They wanted people to see who I really am
And not the person I am pretending to be
But what do they know about who I am?
The black mask is who I am

What they can never understand is that
If I were pretending to be something else
I would wear a white mask
Hiding the true nature

Of my twisted, tortured soul.

Good logic Fandango. We do try to appear better than who we are deep down. Thanks for joining in

Great poem, and a very honest response for a deceptive soul
