“Why does it always seem that we have to grapple over everything?” Jenny asked. “Spilling food in the dining room with three kids under eight is unavoidable and I won’t have carpet there. That’s line is not worth crossing.”
“You are so stubborn,” George said. “It’s like a light bulb turns on inside your head and blinds all reason.”
“Shh,” George said. “The kids are in the next room.”
“Screw the kids, George,” Jenny retorted. “They’re the reason we shouldn’t have carpeting in the dining room.
