“Do you have a signal?” Don asked.
“No bars,” Jack said. “I told you we should have stopped for gas at that last station we passed. But no, you said we were good for another 50 miles. I guess not.”
“Well, it is what it is. Looks like there’s a dirt road up ahead on the right,” Don said. “Maybe it leads to a house and we can get someone who lives there give us a ride to a gas station or at least let us call for a tow truck.”
“Fine, grab the gas can and let’s head down that dirt road,” Jack said.
The two men started hiking down the dirt road that was fortunately frozen over so that it wasn’t a muddy mess. “I’m fucking tired,” Don complained. “How long have we been walking?”
Jack looked at his watch. “‘Bout an hour,” he said, “but before too long it’s gonna start getting dark. We need to find a cabin or a house pretty soon or we’re gonna be in deep shit, Don.”
“Hey, look over there!” Don shouted. “I think that’s a cabin. Let’s go.”
The two men picked up their pace, but then Jack stopped short. “Crap,” he said,” that’s not a cabin. It looks like an old, abandoned, log barn.”
Don sighed, looked at his mobile phone. “Do you have a signal?” he asked.
“No bars,” Jack said.

Nope, when you are in the country you should make sure you fill up before you get too low. Leaving your vehicle is not always a great idea either.
