It’s March, we haven’t had rain since December, and they’re calling for a long, hot, dry summer. You purport to be environmentally conscientious, yet when I suggest that you’re wasting precious water by sprinkling your lawn every single day, you respond with anger. You are disingenuous and the ramifications seem elusive to you. Apparently conserving water is not a priority for you.
(Exactly 62 words)
Written for Sammi Cox’s Weekend Writing Prompt, where the word is “purport” in exactly 62 words. Also for these daily prompts: Ragtag Daily Prompt (march), Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (water). The Daily Spur (anger), My Vivid Blog (elusive), and E.M.’s Random Word Prompt (apparently).
Our city is giving fines for wasting water. As well they should.

We, in Adelaide, are in drought, while our northeastern states are savaged by floods … need a river to wend its way from there to here.

And my brother and his inlaws. It was 2 weeks flooding before we heard from them. Most of them.

My son’s just worried about working. He’s casual, so no work no pay

We are coming out of our drought a little but still need some good spring rains. I never have understood those who insist on a green lawn at such a cost.
