It’s only been a week since Rory’s last batch of Weekend Quickie questions. Seems he’s back to having this as a weekly prompt. But who can resist? Let’s see what he’s asking this time.
Have you ever had the desire to holiday in a nudist camp? [OR have you holidayed in a nudist camp anyway?]
I have often wondered what it would be like to visit a nudist camp. I did go to a nude beach once and yes, I did bare all.
When was the last time you ironed an item of clothing?
Let’s see. I retired at the end of 2016. So it’s been five years and two and a half months.
If your clothes could talk, what would they tell us about you?
That I have no taste in clothing.
When was the last time you rode on a bicycle?
This past Wednesday my wife and I took our ebikes out for about a 15-mile ride.
How well do you manage your time?
I’m retired so my time doesn’t need a whole lot of managing.
Do you shine your shoes and if so is this daily or weekly and if not, why not?
Since I retired, the only shoes I wear anymore are sneakers, and sneakers never need shining.
What makes for the perfect cup of coffee [or tea] in your opinion – is there a secret to the brewing process?
I brew a fresh pot of coffee daily using organic, dark roast whole coffee beans that I load into my Cuisinart combination burr grinder and brewer. Mmm.
Can you open a bottle with your teeth?
I’ve never tried and, at my age, hoping to take my natural teeth with me to my grave, I likely never will.
What do you consider to be the top five drawbacks to being abducted by extra-terrestrials?
- Having to be on the receiving end of an anal probe, which seems to be a favorite pastime of aliens who abduct humans (and of gastroenterologists who perform colonoscopies).
- Possibly being killed by hostile aliens.
- Possibly never being returned to Earth.
- Being caged like an animal in an alien zoo.
- Being experimented on in unimaginable ways.
How painful do you believe it might be to lie on a bed of nails?
I imagine it would not be a pleasant experience.
Bonus Question: What is the most useless, and what is the most helpful color in your opinion and why?
Any color whose name in no way describes what color something actually is. Color names like taupe, mauve, chartreuse, or amaranth are useless to me. The most helpful color is, well, any color with a name that I understand.
