FOWC with Fandango — Jazz

It’s March 11, 2022. Welcome to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). I will be posting each day’s word just after midnight Pacific Time (U.S.).

Today’s word is “jazz.”

Write a post using that word. It can be prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction. It can be any length. It can be just a picture or a drawing if you want. No holds barred, so to speak.

Once you are done, tag your post with #FOWC and create a pingback to this post if you are on WordPress. Please check to confirm that your pingback is there. If not, please manually add your link in the comments.

And be sure to read the posts of other bloggers who respond to this prompt. You will marvel at their creativity.

I mentioned a men’s a cappella group, a day or two ago, that will be participating in a Bach festival in MI, early April. They also do jazz.

I’ve been watching a series called I am Jazz on YouTubeTV (different from YouTube). This young person was born with the given name of Jasper, but he-she chose to change names (and gender). She is currently [in the reality show while I don’t know if it’s ongong or when it may have ended in real time] talking to doctors — most of whom she has to travel fairly far to meet and consult with — about taking out part of her stomach to make a vagina or taking out a piece of her intestines through her abdomen to create such a thing for her. When I know someone (a cis adult) who had part of his intestine taken out due to a health event, and know that it was seriously scary surgery and that his future functioning elimination of waste through his alimentary canal was in question [or, as Frank Zappa would call it, poop shoot], I wonder if the people involved hear thremselves speaking. At the same time, a therapist for Jazz says Jazz is “sabotaging” her medical approval for the surgery by gaining weight through uncontrolled eating as comfort.
