Fandango’s Provocative Question #158

Welcome once again to Fandango’s Provocative Question. Each week I will pose what I think is a provocative question for your consideration.

By provocative, I don’t mean a question that will cause annoyance or anger. Nor do I mean a question intended to arouse sexual desire or interest.

What I do mean is a question that is likely to get you to think, to be creative, and to provoke a response. Hopefully a positive response.

The other day I overheard a discussion in which one person said that they do their best thinking on the toilet. Another said that they do their best thinking while driving their car. A third person said it was while in the shower.

I thought this might be an interest question to ask you, my fellow members of the blogging community. So this week’s provocative question is simply…

When and where do you do your best thinking? Why is that?

If you choose to participate, write a post with your response to the question. Once you are done, tag your post with #FPQ and create a pingback to this post if you are on WordPress. Or you can simply include a link to your post in the comments. But remember to check to confirm that your pingback or your link shows up in the comments.

Sometimes, when I’ve gotten fatigued of thinking about tedious and unpleasant details, I make new connections in the shower or after sleeping.

I get flash insights in the shower too. Genius strokes. Why does it decide to vanish poof! as soon as I get out Marleen?.. Maybe I should not shower and just stay dirty……

i have to distinguish between brooding, obsessing, and fretting — versus actually THINKING. I’m not sure they are similar much less the same.

To be serious I think and create best in the cafe over coffee. Why? Too many distractions at home.

Sitting in nature… even if it is just next to an open window hearing the birds singing.
