Welcome to January 27, 2022 and to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). I will be posting each day’s word just after midnight Pacific Time (U.S.).
Today’s word is “belt.”
Write a post using that word. It can be prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction. It can be any length. It can be just a picture or a drawing if you want. No holds barred, so to speak.
Once you are done, tag your post with #FOWC and create a pingback to this post if you are on WordPress. Please check to confirm that your pingback is there. If not, please manually add your link in the comments.
And be sure to read the posts of other bloggers who respond to this prompt. You will marvel at their creativity.
ODE TO BELT
I am a little ‘veyor belt
Hiding in your car
Do not take me for granted
I only go so far
Yes little belt……
When out on drivies (with your wife)
Make sure I don’t go crack
Cos if I do it shows abuse
You will be walking back
Gulp……
Have you checked for cracks lately dear?………
Gulp gulp…….
Does your electric one have a belt where it counts Fan?
Maybe it’s a no-crack type. All new to me……

No timing belts. No fan belts. No suspenders, either.

Actually I wouldn’t expect belts in an electric car.
Suspender belts. Replaced by roll-ons. Replaced by nothing. Time moves on…….

When I was a young child, our next door neighbour wanted to take his belt to me because I had ‘been putting dirt down his drains’. My Dad told him in no uncertain terms that it was not me putting the dirt down the drains, but his own daughter, as he’d seen her do it and it wasn’t me at all.
I hope he didn’t take the belt to her.

My father used to give me that threat and he once even ripped ofc his belt. But he never actually hit me with it.

I can’t remember either of my parents smacking me, but my Mum bit me and drew blood………. I still have the scar LOL. Apparently I’d bitten my sister and Mum decided to let know what it felt like.

We always laughed about it because she cried more than I did. I never bit anyone again though.
