FOWC with Fandango — Apart

Welcome to January 14, 2022 and to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). I will be posting each day’s word just after midnight Pacific Time (U.S.).

Today’s word is “apart.”

Write a post using that word. It can be prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction. It can be any length. It can be just a picture or a drawing if you want. No holds barred, so to speak.

Once you are done, tag your post with #FOWC and create a pingback to this post if you are on WordPress. Please check to confirm that your pingback is there. If not, please manually add your link in the comments.

And be sure to read the posts of other bloggers who respond to this prompt. You will marvel at their creativity.

A woman has identical twins and has to give them for adoption. One goes to a family in Egypt and is named Amal. The other goes to a family in Spain and is named Juan. Years later Juan sends a picture of himself to his mother. Upon receiving the picture, she tearfully tells her husband that she wishes she also had a picture of Amal. Her husband responds, “But they are twins! If you’ve seen Juan, you’ve seen Amal.”

Covid is trying to penetrate me
I’m trying to keep us apart
To do this I’ve lowered portcullis
(My ‘cullis is dear to my heart)

    They’ve got holes all over……

    Do they?……
