Welcome to January 12, 2022 and to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). I will be posting each day’s word just after midnight Pacific Time (U.S.).
Today’s word is “essence.”
Write a post using that word. It can be prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction. It can be any length. It can be just a picture or a drawing if you want. No holds barred, so to speak.
Once you are done, tag your post with #FOWC and create a pingback to this post if you are on WordPress. Please check to confirm that your pingback is there. If not, please manually add your link in the comments.
And be sure to read the posts of other bloggers who respond to this prompt. You will marvel at their creativity.
ODE TO ESSENCE
I really don’t like being ‘essence’
I’d like to go back (me abort)
‘Ecnesse’? sounds good, yep I like it
I’ve made a new word to report
Oxford English Dic?……
I’ve got something for ya………
You don’t pay?……

I find it intrinsic to my inner nature to comment, hopefully a true substance of important elements Fandango 🙂

I get the essence of what you’re saying, Brian.

I do so like the word essence,
… thinking upon it, l use it a lot,
I love the nuance,
…. the way it seemingly spills out,
But not.
It makes me think of that other word quintessence,
… which is also a lovely word,
As much so as flourescence,
…. which makes me think of things cuddly and furred!
I am not sure why l love the word essence,
… l just do and use it often because it’s pleasant.
