You said that we were
Made for one another
Like two peas in a pod
That we belonged together
Always
But then
Without any warning
You left the pod
And now here you are
With nothing to say
You can’t even look at me
How could you betray me?
I never expected you to be
The kind of pea
Who would split on me

And I’m afraid I began to have my doubts,
When I found she had become a sprout.
