I am not a woman. But my wife is. And my daughter is. And slightly more than half of all Americans are. So I thought this post from Jill Dennison is an important one. Not just for woman, but for everyone who knows women and who cares about them, their rights, and their well-being.
Today the Supreme Court, once a fair and non-partisan branch of our federal government, is hearing a case to decide whether to uphold the recent …
Women’s Rights Is Only The Beginning
wow …. love the article … scary to think which way this journey will take. I really hope that we continue much needed progress with women’s rights.

It really is a man’s problem as well as a woman’s. The whole family can be changed.
We do see men protesting too. But I wish more men would be just as vocal. Or maybe I just missed them doing so.
As you stated: Only the beginning of demolishing rights of all kinds.

From someone who lives on the other side of the world, American politics and lots of other things that happen (including these laws about women’s rights over their own bodies) just seem … nuts!

Seems nuts to someone on this side of the world, too.

I did not read the whole article because I was enraged before I got through the first paragraph. I know that I’m never going to need an abortion, but it infuriates me that these people think women are just “things” to be controlled. If I read anymore, I’m going to throw something. When I say I don’t like this world, this is a lot of what I’m talking about. After ALL the efforts women — and the men who believe in their rights — have made over now CENTURIES — we are back at the beginning. What is WRONG with this country? It makes me want to dig up my old Israeli passport and go move to my other country where we have rights, but the men are a bunch of testosterone-laden jerks. We just can’t win and I’m getting too old to try. How despicable can we get? I guess I’ll live to find out because it’s happening awfully fast.

I cannot believe that this is what has become of America in the 21st century. The Republicans do seem to want to make the U.S. a real world version of The Handmaid’s Tale, where women are just vessels for making babies and have no individual rights.

It’s so odd to see America going back to like the 50’s.
