Thursday Inspiration — Live on Stage

In the Before Days, prior to Covid-19, my wife and I used to go to around a dozen live stage performances a year. There is nothing like seeing a live concert where your favorite classic rock artists, like the Eagles, Jackson Browne, Billy Joel, Peter Frampton, the Stones, CSNY, Elton John, Steely Dan, the Moody Blues — all of whom we’ve seen perform live over the years — and a host of other greats, rock the stage with their greatest hits. And yes, we’ve even been to multiple live Yanni concerts over the years!

When we lived in San Francisco, three blocks from Golden Gate Park, we used to go to the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass and Outside Lands music festivals, each of which had multiple stages spread across a large section of the park. And on the East Bay we saw live performances by artists like Jackson Browne (pictured above) and Don Henley at Berkeley’s Greek Theater amphitheater.

And we also subscribed to Broadway SF, where we went to about a half dozen live Broadway stage shows (musical and plays) each season.

But all that ended once the pandemic hit, and, quite honestly, I’m not sure I’ll ever be ready to see another live-on-stage performance again. At least not until COVID-19 has been fully eradicated. But with all of those assholes who still refuse to get vaccinated or even where face masks, that’s highly unlikely.

I do, indeed, Jim. I just wonder how much longer I’ll be able to hold on to my memories. 🤨

It’s a loss, the fact that we can’t/ won’t go to live concerts.

Crowds are to avoided especially when there are dickheads among them. Great memories Fandango. Don’t get a lot of OS bands here….it’s too far and costs heaps to stage. Ticket prices are OTT

I haven’t seen an live stage performance for a very very long time, even prior to pandemic.
But just a hope that day soon will arrive with no fear of into the crowd.
But again, will it ever happen again?

I’ve already been to a concert! We all had to wear masks and we get our temperatures checked. I do live in Australia, and I do live in a State where we haven’t had that many outbreaks lately. I have to be one concert so far. But we did go back into lockdown for a week or so, a little while ago, and there was a concert I was supposed to go, but it’s been delayed to next year now.

I love going to concerts, but I’m hesitant nowadays. We went to one recently and the whole place was really subdued.

I think I’m an asshole at heart; I don’t want to do things that will involve me having to wear a mask for long periods of time. I had an opportunity to go to an appealing concert, this week, but would’ve had to wear a mask for hours all at once. Meanwhile, as I did plan for a while to go to this thing along with some friends and family, one couple had to be disinvited because at least the lady half is not vaccinated. Well… that rained on my parade. And I went through some (arguable) hell getting vaccinated; I’m not going to live in fear.

This (below) is from a couple days ago, but I’ve just now (after that post above) seen it. It’s quite interesting. Maybe I should move to Europe or Singapore or Norway. (Here, I don’t flout a rule to wear a mask; there, I wouldn’t be asked to mostly.)

Although Fauci is smarter than Donald Trump, he might be one of the assholes, too, in trying to get around Barack Obama’s ruling AGAINST gain of function mad scientist shenanigans.

I have tickets to a concert in a few weeks. I am a little nervous about it, but the venue is requiring masks. No vaccine requirements that I know of though. I guess I will take the plunge and see how it goes.
