Welcome to Fandango’s Flash Fiction Challenge. Each week I will be posting a photo I grab off the internet and challenging bloggers to write a flash fiction piece or a poem inspired by the photo. There are no style or word limits.
The image below is from Sarolta Bán Photography.
For the visually challenged writer, the surrealistic image shows a man and a boy walking among large trees that are crowned with paint brushes with bristles covered in white paint dripping from the clouds above.
If this week’s image inspires you and you wish to participate, please write your post, use the tag #FFFC, and link back to this post. I hope it will generate some great posts.
Please create a pingback to this post or manually add your link in the comments.

Page and page again of wet printer paper came out with the pictures she had taken only four years ago. One after another… of a burnt field. She stared at the different shades of darkness and continued in her plan to make a collage of the print-offs. In a nearby room, a smiling portrait had been hidden away in a suitcase after his daughter saw it cast aside as uninteresting. But she wants to make a collage? When has she ever oconsidered visual creation? I had to spirit off with all of his work so she wouldn’t throw it away or give it to anyone who showed up. She isn’t even continuing to gather with their friends, because those people are artists… lesser beings. The afternoon passed, and the whir of grey and brown rectangles settled down as mother wandered up the stairs to bed. That night, with multipurpose luggage near, Mandy cried herself to sleep and dreamt of paintbrush pathways where daddy and the little brother they didn’t have walked hand-in-hand.
