I keep getting notifications on my iPhone about the release of the latest, greatest update for my Apple phone: iOS 15.
I also keep getting this notification from McAfee demanding that I immediately update my now out-of-date iOS software.
Oh, the pressure!
I’m thinking that I’ll wait until Apple rolls out iOS 15.1, as there almost always seem to be issues with the initial “big” (i.e., those with a number followed by “.0) releases of Apple’s iOS.
On the other hand, based upon what I have read, iOS 15 has some pretty neat features and new functionality that is kinda cool.
Should I jump into iOS 15.0 with both feet? Should I be an early adopter? Should I risk having all kinds of unexpected issues that arise on WordPress because of shoddy integration between the WordPress iOS app and the new Apple iOS?
Or should I play it safe and give the techno gurus at Apple and the happiness engineers at WordPress time to work out the kinks.
Thoughts?
Just make sure you have a good backup since there is never a way to roll back to prior versions of iOS. I learned the hard way when I updated my iPad without a backup. The new release caused my iPad to power off every two minutes and there was no way to back out. After hours and hours on the phone with Apple, I finally proved to them the update had made my iPad useless. They sent me a new one.

I’m still at 14.8 and didn’t even realize 15 was available (I now see it is). I’ll let you go first… 😂

If you are waiting for WP to do anything you’ll be on your way to “the other side”! I’m still mad I can’t have my classic editor. Why not I ask????

And if you are like me, the annoying notice in the settings icon is enough to make me want to get rid of it. OCD anyone😜

I’d wait, but I’m cautious with this kind of thing.

So far so good with 15, but I hate McAfee with a passion and don’t want their stuff on my machine.

Look at what the update includes, and if there are any security issues (check what they are, especially if they’re fixes for hacking problems), don’t wait.

Wait and read reviews after a few weeks and then decide. I dislike McAfee as their security caused issues. I am not and never will be an Apple user after seeing the troubles my partner goes through with her Ipad and phone

Okay, I might just remove McAfee from my phone.

One of the benefits of Apple products is that they’re supposed to have good security of their own.

Mine, too. I’m probably going to wait on 15.0.

I’ve been told I’m supposed to buy a new sim card by the end of the month (or forgo service)! Update-shmupdate. I’m looking at that Samsung that folds open.

If you can afford it, do it. It’s not like we’re saving for a rainy day. Last I looked, it’s already raining.

It’s a free update, so I can afford it. I’m just worried about any issues that might surface once the update is installed.

My advice to you is to leave well enough alone.

I updated my phone without any issues. There seems to be hardly any. The wp app still works great. I would do it if i were you!

“time to work out the kinks,” have they ever fixed the issue with commenting for you? And if so it was a LONG wait to get it done for sure. If it were me, I would wait.

There are still issues on commenting on blogs that don’t have “wordpress.com” in the blog’s address. But it’s been 11 months since I started to pursue this issue with the happiness engineers. I guess they still need more time.

Geez, that is ridiculous that they still haven’t remedied that problem after nearly a year!
