There’s a New Sheriff in Town

His top advisors warned him to handle things with kid gloves when he first assumed office, but almost immediately after they cut the proverbial ribbon on his administration, he started signing executive orders, the first of which was to rescind a long standing doctrine of international diplomatic relations with one of the country’s staunches allies.

When faced with criticism from the opposition party and the press, especially given that his executive order was executed on the fiftieth anniversary of the signing of the agreement, he was less than gracious when he called the doctrine a rusty relic of the past and, as the new sheriff in town, he was going to shake things up, for better or for worse.

Written for these daily prompts: The Daily Spur (glove/international), My Visual Blog (ribbon/anniversary), Your Daily Word Prompt (rescind), Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (doctrine), Word of the Day Challenge (gracious ), and Ragtag Daily Prompt (rusty relic).

Has a hint of a horror story attached to it.
