This was kind of a rough week for me. Between clumsily falling and bruising a rib and finding out that my car will need repairs estimated to run in the low five figures in the near term, I was feeling pretty bummed out. Oh, I also got a huge splinter in a finger and my wife had to dig it out with a pair of tweezers. Ouch!
But I’m not one to sit around weeping over these relatively minor misfortunes. Instead, I smoked a little weed, which was some really sweet stuff, to help me relax and to ease the pain from my bruised rib. That mellowed me out quite a lot and helped me feel a wee bit better.
I also spent some time on Twitter tweeting away. Then I composed and scheduled a few for my upcoming weekly prompt posts, and went through my WordPress spam and trash folders in order to give them a clean sweep.
To keep informed, I perused the two newsweekly magazines I subscribe to. By midweek, my rib was feeling a lot better and it wasn’t too hot outside, so I donned my favorite tweed cap, and helped my wife do some weeding in the garden. I know that cap makes me look like a bit of a dweeb, but it was just my wife and me in our backyard, so who cares, right?
Now the weekend has finally arrived and I’m looking forward to a nice, relaxing couple of days and a relatively uneventful week ahead.
This post was written for Linda G. Hill’s Stream of Consciousness Saturday prompt. In case you couldn’t figure it out, Linda asked us to use the word “wee” or find a word that contains it and use it in our post.
Note that this post is a mix of fact and fiction. Some of it is true, but I don’t have a Twitter account and, therefore, didn’t write or read tweets. Also, I did not do any weeding in my garden and I don’t own a tweed cap. And the truth is that my bruised rib is not even a wee bit better and it still hurts like hell. And that bit about the splinter and the tweezers was totally made up.
