5 Things — Italian Foods

It’s been a while since I last participated in one of Dr. Tanya’s 5 Things prompts. In this edition, she asks us to list our five favorite Italian dishes.

Veal Marsala — A classic Italian dish made with thinly sliced veal scaloppine prepared in a Marsala reduction sauce with sliced mushrooms. Mmm.

Linguine with white wine clam sauce — Do I need to say more?

Pizza — …with you favorite toppings. Mine are pepperoni and mushrooms or barbecue chicken.

Lasagna — I like it with beef.

Tiramisu — There’s no better way to finish off a nice Italian meal than with a piece of tiramisu.

I just had chicken Marsala a few days ago. And I love tiramisu, too.

I like chicken Parmesan, eggplant Parmesan, and… some kind of dessert with pistachios.

I like eggplant in Chinese form as well. Such as a garlic dish from Bo Ling’s. This is a tendency I learned from my dad, who cooked fried eggplant (of neither the Italian or Chinese flavor).

I am a fan of the clam sauce over pasta alternative too. I used to get that at the Italian restaurant that was “the’ place to get Italian food ‘in the day’ – well in Utah it was “the” place. I’d get clam sauce on half and browned Mizithra cheese on the other. Oh my goodness. I’m drooling.. So GOOD! 😛
