I started to look back, but I doubt I’m going to find where you answered about a favorite book series of yours that wasn’t by Tolkien. It was a family across time (and I think space) with experiences in colonial days for one — and I hope I’ve described it enough (for you to remember and tell me the name). When I looked the titles up, before, they were expensive used book sales. But I’m in the mood to buy a solid book today.

It was The Patternist series, a group of novels by Octavia E. Butler.

Mm… I’m thinking the author was highly motivated by someone (a real someone) who couldn’t learn “no matter” how old he got, no matter how many years he had to experience and observe and take in information. I can relate.

True but if we keep looking back, we’re bound to crash. Great take, Fandango.

Indeed it is! And best to leave stuff in the past unless there are lessons to draw on from the past to enable a better future. Dee
