Share Your World — 6/21/21

Melanie is back with another edition of Share Your World. Here are today’s questions.

What’s one question you wish more people asked you?

There is no question I wish more people would ask me. I think everyone should just mind their own business.

Do you like eggs? What’s your favorite way to have them served?

Yes I like eggs. I like them over-easy or in an omelette or cooked in “hole in the wall” style.

Thoughts on scary movies? (not horror necessarily, but suspense or action/thrillers)

I used to be into horror movies, but my wife is not a fan, so we hardly watch them. I do like science fiction as well as suspense thrillers, mysteries, and some action movies.

Do you believe in Karma?

I don’t believe in the notion of karma as what you’ve done in previous states of existence, or in your current life, deciding your fate in future existences. That’s because I don’t believe in previous or future states of existence. Nor, as a pragmatist, do I believe in destiny or in fate. But I do believe in cause and effect, so, from the concept of karma as current actions having an impact on one’s future in this lifetime, yes, I will concede to that.

GRATITUDE

At this moment, what you are most grateful for?

I’m grateful that it seems that the worst of the pandemic appears to be behind us and that things are slowly returning to normal. Or at least to a “new normal.”

Is that what ‘toad in the hole’ is? I’ve always wondered!

Hi Melanie, yes that’s what we’ve always called it. Didn’t know it had others names.

Thanks Fandango for Sharing Your World and some very pragmatic answers! I don’t know much about karma as in the afterlife or previous life or that sort of mystical thing, so I meant it just as you took it, that if we put ‘bad’ things out there, eventually we attract ‘bad’ things right back to us. There are consequences to actions. Great catch! I love eggs served in bread like that, hubby made the best ones. I’ve tried to make it for myself a time or two, and it’s fairly weak tea comparatively. Maybe it’s a case of practice making perfect or something. Good breakfast! I’m glad too that things (at least in the USA, it is not true globally from some things I’ve read from bloggers in other countries) are returning to a semblance of normal. I hope you’re able to enjoy activities once again without worry! Take care and have a great week!

Never had “hole in the wall” egg before, but I am not a fan of soft or runny yolk. I used to eat it as a kid, now I can’t stomach it. I have to be in the right mood for scary movies, and no I will not watch them alone… yikes!
