FOWC with Fandango — Runaround

FOWCWelcome to June 21, 2021 and to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). It’s designed to fill the void after WordPress bailed on its daily one-word prompt.

I will be posting each day’s word just after midnight Pacific Time (US).

Today’s word is “runaround.”

Write a post using that word. It can be prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction. It can be any length. It can be just a picture or a drawing if you want. No holds barred, so to speak.

Once you are done, tag your post with #FOWC and create a pingback to this post if you are on WordPress. Please check to confirm that your pingback is there. If not, please manually add your link in the comments.

And be sure to read the posts of other bloggers who respond to this prompt. You will marvel at their creativity.

Ah, previous boyfriends gave me the runaround, but the best runaround I had was actually a car called Harriet…….. a 1988 Yugo with a heart of gold which I had for 8 years and she never let me down. Fond memories of treasure hunts and taking on black BMWs at traffic lights, and winning!!!!

A Yugo? I thought that was a POS car. Well, I’m happy that you enjoyed yours.

A yellow one was featured in Die Hard with a Vengeance, so not exactly a fast getaway! Harriet was brilliant though, and Hubby had a Yugo 45 the same colour. We had a lot of fun in them. A week after we sold the 45, we got a speeding ticket for doing 70 in a 30 mph limit. It wasn’t us as we’d put the time of sale on the transfer document and besides, didn’t know the car could actually DO 70!

I’m gonna try to remember 🤞 to include time of sale on future automobile title transfers.

It’s all done my computer here now, but obviously saved us a hefty fine!
