Share Your World — Dammit, Melanie, You Got Me Talking Politics Again

It’s Monday and that means Melanie is here with another one of her Share Your World set of questions. So let’s give it a go.

What inanimate object do you wish you could eliminate from existence?

Fox News, Newsmax, OAN News, and any and all of the other far-right news media outlets that continue to spew the Big Lie, conspiracy theories, and Trumpish propaganda that is designed to promote and elevate Donald Trump and to further split, divide, and ultimately destroy our American democracy.

What tells you the most about a person?

Their eyes.

What is something you thought would be easy until you tried it?

Downhill skiing.

What ridiculous and untrue, yet slightly plausible, theories can you come up with for the cause of common ailments like headaches or cavities?

Hearing, watching, and reading about how congressional Republicans, right-wing pundits, and other deranged Trump supporters attempt to justify Trump’s claim that the election was rigged and that he is the legitimate president, and who continue to kowtow to a man who was unquestionably the worst president the United States ever had.

What are you grateful for since they ‘cured’ Covid? (Yeah, I realize it’s not cured. But at least the vaccine is available and restrictions have eased up in many places. If that’s a good thing or not remains to be seen I suppose).

I am grateful that my wife and I are able to invite a group of about a dozen and a half family members and friends (all of whom are fully vaccinated) to our home on Sunday to celebrate our grandson’s first birthday with us.

I’m surprised at how little our life has changed except that any restaurant we used to go to is closed as well as one of the two malls in the area. And the weather is much better. Otherwise? It’s the same life. Just less money because of the inflation we aren’t having.

So many restaurants closed and the few malls that are still open are like ghost towns. Not much has changed for us, either, and other than seeing our kids and grandson more often, probably not much will.

He should be, but you’re right, Teflon Don will probably skate.

Thanks, Fandango for Sharing Your World! Sorry ’bout waking the sleeping ‘giant’…but you know you’re absolutely right. Those dingbats ARE responsible for so much, and they’re unwilling to take responsibility. The fact that the clueless pile of orange excrement refuses to leave the stage only further proves to me that he’s deranged and entitled and all the ugly stuff we came to know about him when he actually had some reason to be hanging around bothering people. Happy Birthday to your lovely grandson, I’m sure that will dilute any bile caused by that orange Kool-Aid drinking mob of morons! Have a great week!

Thanks, Melanie. I was hoping that Dump would just faded away, but he somehow still has a grip on the GOP. I don’t get it. I never will. Enjoy the rest of the week.

♫ Happy Birthday ♫ to your grandson!!! And how exciting that another is due in the fall! Good post, by the way … sometimes it’s just not possible to ignore the political situation for long.

Thank you, Jill. I have tried to not get upset about the political situation, but it’s impossible to ignore the insanity of it all.

It is impossible, at least for me. I am always amazed when some of my friends say, “Oh, it’s only politics … I don’t pay any attention to it.” Sigh.

Ya-hooo! Enjoy Sunday together (I’m sure you will). My family has a birthday boy celebrating, today (we’re going out to eat). I almost forgot to tell him happy birthday (before this evening), because I just got my taxes out of the way earlier today. (I got the stuff done, yesterday, but the program wasn’t very good and I couldn’t get it submitted and opted to go get some sleep.)
