Welcome to April 3, 2021 and to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). It’s designed to fill the void after WordPress bailed on its daily one-word prompt.
I will be posting each day’s word just after midnight Pacific Time (US).
Today’s word is “antithesis.”
Write a post using that word. It can be prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction. It can be any length. It can be just a picture or a drawing if you want. No holds barred, so to speak.
Once you are done, tag your post with #FOWC and create a pingback to this post if you are on WordPress. Please check to confirm that your pingback is there. If not, please manually add your link in the comments.
And be sure to read the posts of other bloggers who respond to this prompt. You will marvel at their creativity.

I was already on this individual’s side of this ridiculous incident. Then I found out he works for a highly reputable company, my insurance company, who are always very professional and helpful (you’re not assigned one contact). This personal news conference went very well.

FULL VIDEO: Body cam video shows officers detaining jogger who was not the suspect they were seeking
CBS [locally-based news, August of 2020]
I watched this (above) whole thing, even though it’s very long; skipped fifteen seconds during lulls. I recommend it — and, if nothing else, check when the officers go into the law office at the end.

The interaction (in the nearby law office) between the witnesses of what the original cops did and two police officers (one being the most offending officer and the other arriving later if I recall correctly) goes from roughly 1:35:45-1:40:00.

As for the first video I posted, today at 11:13 am, there is a brief glitch in that video — from 53 seconds to one minute and 18 seconds in (that is not far from the start of the video of the personal news conference); it picks right back up. You can reduce your wait until it picks up by skipping forward one click.

The host of this podcast, called “the breakfast club” (with Charlamagne), perceives that we should stop saying this is not American (or is antithetical to America). Of course, some racists are/have been way ahead of him on that (as seen/heard in their “real American” talk).

As we can see, Charlamagne (the host), from The Breakfast Club podcast, (along with others) was right or has a point. We would do well to stop saying racism is the antithesis to “real” America or “real” Americans. The question is whether we are to go on being evil. Not so much how we are going to keep clinging to being something from the nonexistent past or a falsely imagined utopian (libertarian/nationalist/anarchist) future. People who call themselves conservative NEED to sort out the elements within their ranks and, sometimes, the conflicting streams within their own souls. We are at their mercy. If they wanna hate — calling it love — they can; we’re not going to be able to “keep” a “republic.” And it’s not at the fault of black people or “the left.” A republic, rejecting a king, was left (back when white people could see that new way for themselves).
