First Impressions

My first impression of him was that he was a worldly, sophisticated, erudite man.

But after seeing him at myriad public appearances, I realized my initial impression couldn’t have been more wrong.

He was nothing more than a charlatan, a moth drawn to and flitting around the limelight.

Watching and hearing him speak made my skin crawl, made me feel slimy, made me want to rush home and take a shower.

Good story. Ah, how some people have carefully prepared a facade so effective, it works very well — until others look closely and ask questions. I think social media has made this much easier to do.

I agree. It’s easy to pretend to be someone you’re not on social media.
