Six Thousand Posts

Whoa! As of late yesterday afternoon, I had, according to WordPress, anyway, apparently reached the milestone of having published six thousand posts. That’s just since mid-May of 2017 when I started this blog, or two months shy of four years. And that works out to an average of about 130 posts per month. Damn, that’s a shitload of posts!

Thanks to your views, likes, and comments, you’ve kept me motivated to write…a lot. So thank you for reading and sticking with me. I value and appreciate each and every one of you.

Wow, impressive and awesome! I publish less than 130 posts per year, so I might hit the 6000 mark by … never mind; keep up the good writing, Fandango!

But your recipes are excellent, and when it comes to recipes, quality trumps quantity.

You started blogging on WordPress just after I joined and you wrote twice as many posts as I have. Way to go.

Well, Jim, you write LONG posts and I write SHORT posts, so I bet your word count over these past four years is higher than my word count.

I would like to get that Total Word Counts widget but I am not going to pay more money for that.

If you go to your stats page and then look at “Insights,” and scroll down, you’ll see “Annual site stats.” Click on that and you’ll see a year by year stats page that will show, among other annual stats, your total words and average words per post for each year. See the screen shot below.

Your average post is more than twice as long as mine.

Bravo, Fandango! And to think you were tempted to quit bc of mere technology. So glad you’ve overcome those challenges!

Well, as long as the WordPress iOS app continues to support the classic editor, I’ll keep blogging.

At this point, I delete as much as I can. The delete function has never worked well and you can only delete a few at a time or you whole site locks up. I can’t even properly back up because there are not only all those posts, but a massive number of pictures, too. I’d really like to dump the first three or four years, but you can’t do that, not manually or any other way. I’ve tried. These days, I dump reblogs after they’ve run their course and I’m posting less. What with the new block design, I’ll definitely be posting less anyway. I keep trying to find a way to like it, but it isn’t working. I still hate it.
