The Big Lie

One aspect of the fallout from the Trump administration is that there exists an ongoing threat to the safety and security of the United States. This is due to the “Big Lie” promoted by Donald Trump and reinforced by a number of powerful, complicit Republicans in Congress, many of whom still claim that this situation we’re in is serendipity, rather than as a result of a deliberate campaign of lies and misinformation designed to incite violent, domestic, Trump-supporting, right-wing extremists. These MAGA-maniacs are now threatening to blow up the Capitol building when Joe Biden is expected to give the State of the Union address before a joint session of Congress and to kill as many members of Congress as possible.

Any astute, bipartisan observer should be able to read the calligraphy on the wall. The Republicans need to immediately disavow Trumpism and distance themselves from the former president or our nation will not survive.

A Month of Love #25

Paula Light says, “Let’s celebrate the month of lurve (aka love) by posting one thing we love every day throughout February.

Now the truth is that I’m not really a romantic guy, so I might be hard pressed to come up with 28 objects of love, but I think I should be able to come up with 28 things I like a lot.

I’m not a flashy dresser and I don’t make much of an effort — okay, no effort whatsoever — to be fashionable. For me, it’s alway comfort over style. And that goes for my shoes.

When I’m not padding around my house in slippers, my almost exclusive footwear is my Brooks Addiction Walker sneakers. In black.See, I told you, comfort over style.

Tell Me What You Think

I enjoy reading the comments that people leave on my posts. But I also get a fair amount of comments that go directly to my spam folder. Lately, rather than just bulk deleting them, I have begun reading some of the comments that show up in my spam folder before I delete them. It’s interesting to me when spammers give me feedback on my blog.

Some spammers just can’t get enough of my blog Take Broderick Streich, who “extremely loves” what I supply to my guests. He wrote…

I simply couldn’t leave your web site before suggesting that I extremely loved the usual information a person supply on your guests. Is gonna be again continuously to investigate cross-check new posts.

Jason McKay believes my blog is “too magnificent.” He told me…

Excellent items from you, man. I’ve take into account your stuff previous to and you’re just too magnificent. I actually like what you have obtained right here, certainly like what you are stating and the best way wherein you are saying it. You make it entertaining and you still take care of to keep it sensible. I can’t wait to read far more from you. That is actually a terrific site.

Charita Wegman is so impressed by my writing that she promised to “come back later in life.”

Thanks for one’s marvelous posting! I truly enjoyed reading it, you are a great author. I will remember to bookmark your blog and will come back later in life. I want to encourage yourself to continue your great job, have a nice morning!

And Nova Ness thinks I should be more well-liked than I currently am. Although she might be confusing me with someone else because I’ve never written a post about Lady Gaga. She commented…

What I do not understood is actually how you’re not really much more well-liked than you may be right now. You’re very intelligent. You realize thus significantly relating to this subject, produced me personally consider it from so many varied angles. Its like men and women aren’t fascinated unless it is one thing to do with Lady Gaga! Your own stuffs outstanding. Always maintain it up!

But some commenters seem to be unimpressed and disappointed by my posts. Markita Samuel, for example, complained that I whine too much and I’m trying too hard to get attention. She wrote…

The next time I read a weblog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as a lot as this one. I mean, I know it was my option to read, but I truly thought you’d have one thing fascinating to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about something that you would repair if you happen to werent too busy in search of attention.

And Milton Berger thinks I’ve slipped up lately. He told me…

Hey, you used to write wonderful, but the last several posts have been kinda boring… I miss your great writings. Past several posts are just a bit out of track! come on!

Well, as with most aspects of life, you can please some of the spammers some of the time, but you can’t please all of the spammers all of the time.

FOWC with Fandango — Fallout

FOWCWelcome to February 25, 2021 and to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). It’s designed to fill the void after WordPress bailed on its daily one-word prompt.

Today’s word is “fallout.”

Write a post using that word. It can be prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction. It can be any length. It can be just a picture or a drawing if you want. No holds barred, so to speak.

Once you are done, tag your post with #FOWC and create a pingback to this post if you are on WordPress. Please check to confirm that your pingback is there. If not, please manually add your link in the comments.

And be sure to read the posts of other bloggers who respond to this prompt. You will marvel at their creativity.
