Tale Weaver — The Mystery of the Bald Man

For this week’s Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie Tale Weaver prompt, we are asked to “write in the form of a mystery story that involves a bald man.”

It all began that chilly February morning when Jacob woke up, walked into the bathroom, saw his reflection in the bathroom mirror over the sink, and noticed that his head was bald.

My father wasn’t bald, he thought.

My mother wasn’t bald, he thought.

My brother isn’t bald, he thought.

My sister isn’t bald, he thought.

No one else in my entire extended family is or was bald, he thought.

And yet I am bald, he thought.

Why am I bald? he wondered.

It was a real mystery to Jacob.

The end.

But has the hair from his head been sent to his ears and nose?
