FOWC with Fandango — Irreconcilable

FOWCWelcome to February 17, 2021 and to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). It’s designed to fill the void after WordPress bailed on its daily one-word prompt.

I will be posting each day’s word just after midnight Pacific Time (US).

Today’s word is “irreconcilable.”

Write a post using that word. It can be prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction. It can be any length. It can be just a picture or a drawing if you want. No holds barred, so to speak.

Once you are done, tag your post with #FOWC and create a pingback to this post if you are on WordPress. Please check to confirm that your pingback is there. If not, please manually add your link in the comments.

And be sure to read the posts of other bloggers who respond to this prompt. You will marvel at their creativity.

A way a situation can be irreconcilable is when one party (whether an individual or an actual party or coalition) keeps digging the hole such a someone made for himself/themselves. I’ve been thinking, this morning, how the Republican (and Republican/Libertarian/American libertarian/righty alliance/which can’t really be called or designated conservative anymore when they’re insane, but hold onto the word, perhaps because it was never worthy) are now ruled by the mob they created. Even senators who had a few lucid moments during and soon after the siege on the Capitol have gone back to foolishness — and it’s a more extreme foolishness, seemingly inexorably. Some of them don’t know how to get out of the hole, and a some of them wouldn’t want to get out if they could. How many would want to be saved? But they think of something to say (or have speech writers concoct the day’s strings of words) and go on. All their games to show how people don’t matter much because we’re not a democracy and democracy is mob rule… has come to this, their mob guards any attempt to get out of the hole; their il-conceived ideology has put us right where we supposedly didn’t want to be. A menacing mob all around, oligarchy above (or, as one person recently and unaware of the irony put it while worshipping the ex-president, monarchy). This is irreconcilable for someone who has spent her life with conservative values (grounded in the seventies with a view back as well as forward), not fealty to a Conservative faction. As the person bowing to the monarchy while complaining about the oligarchy, which he called monarchy, noted: I thought we had anti-monopoly laws. Will he wake from his dream of being in a hole? He has a companion who does double-duty, continuing to dig with lies and slander (on brand) and guarding the way. But what part does he, himself, play? I have taken to calling myself progressive or a person who lives conservatively and has a progressive outlook in terms of policy.
