A Month of Love #17

Paula Light says, “Let’s celebrate the month of lurve (aka love) by posting one thing we love every day throughout February.

Now the truth is that I’m not really a romantic guy, so I might be hard pressed to come up with 28 objects of love, but I think I should be able to come up with 28 things I like a lot.

I grew a beard back in ’74 when I was in graduate school studying for my Master’s comps and I never shaved it off. My wife has never seen me without my beard. My kids have never seen me without my beard. In fact, no one still alive has ever seen me without my beard. I love my beard.

But I do trim my beard. The last thing I want to do is look like one of the Duck Dynasty guys.So I keep my beard neatly trimmed. And to do that, I use my handy-dandy Wahl beard trimmer. My Wahl beard trimmer enables me to keep my beard looking good and I also use it to shave my head, which is now only capable of growing peach fuzz anyway. And it has a nose and ear hair trimmer attachment, which, when you get to be my age, comes in handy.

It’s super interesting that your wife has never seen you without a beard.

Goodness, now I have to adjust my mental image of y’all. I thought all this time you were clean-shaven. O_o No worries! From your remarks, I take it that ZZ Top’s type of beard isn’t your preference either..? My now-deceased hubby looked best with a full beard. He shaved it off for our wedding and I almost ran the other way. Clean-shaven did not suit his facial contours at all (weak chin under there). It’s all good. Your wife obviously loves a man with a beard!

Either that or she’s been faking it for 45+ years.

That is a long time to have a beard. My Dad always had a mustache but the beard came later, because of regulations at work. He still had it a good 35 years I would bet.
