These hit the hypocrisy right on the head. A little funny, more than a little sad, and a lot of anger. I’ve had to tell myself many times that hypocrisy is part of politics.
One of those cartoons reminds me that someone online (the someone where I first heard of the topic at all) was offended under the rubric that a Hollywood star had ostensibly been fired for being a Republican. Well… and speaking of it. I subsequently (because of seeking more information) came across this article (which the someone found offensive to the point of β choosing a mask over the eyes or ears and β not engaging or even sharing). Bad girl (me). π€£
Quotation: Other reports suggested her βlikesβ of [Tweets posted by apparent supporters of the January sixth siege of the Capitol] were also a factor in her termination, especially given Disneyβs statement denouncing the attack by Trump supporters and its announcement it would halt political contributions to every member of Congress who voted to reject the certification of [the election results] as Variety reported.
{I had thought it was strange that she was doing this victim thing (in the first place but then further) when it has been Republican types who recently were the cause of deaths and harm during what shouldβve been a peaceful transition; now itβs tangibly beyond strange.}
In real life, Pascal β and other co-stars, including Katee Sackhoff (Bo-Katan Kryze) and Ming-Na Wen (Fennec Shand) β have supported Carano on social media.
At various points during the season, the actressβs supporters caused #IStandWithGinaCarano and #WeLoveCaraDune to trend, while her dissenters have caused #FireGinaCarano to trend on multiple occasions.
……………
It is certainly worth noting that the Star Wars actress has not actually posted anything supporting yesterdayβs rioters. She has, however, βlikedβ several Tweets posted by apparent riot supporters β this is what has caused fans to begin using the #FireGinaCarano hashtag again, particularly in response to Disneyβs official statement.

Great set of cartoons. Pity they are less funny than true.

You forgot the earplugs, the brain lugs, and possibly also the conscience (it’s an assumption that there was one … once upon a time).

If there ever was a collective conscience among those hypocrites, it was lost over the past four years.
