A Month of Love #12

Paula Light says, “Let’s celebrate the month of lurve (aka love) by posting one thing we love every day throughout February.

Now the truth is that I’m not really a romantic guy, so I might be hard pressed to come up with 28 objects of love, but I think I should be able to come up with 28 things I like a lot.

After I wake up, get out of bed, pee, wash my face, and brush my teeth, I go outside and retrieve our morning newspaper. Then I head to our open concept kitchen/family room, pour myself a cup of hot coffee, spread the newspaper across the table, and start to read from front to back.Yes, I’m one of those old-fashioned people who enjoys leisurely perusing the newspaper for interesting articles. Sure, my newspaper was probably printed at around 10 p.m. the night before, and I can get more up-to-the minute news on my iPhone’s newsfeed, but I still really enjoy sipping my coffee and reading the newspaper.

My local paper is the San Francisco Chronicle. It’s not the Washington Post or the New York Times, that’s for sure. But it’s a decent newspaper and it’s worthy of being one of my “month of lurve” designees.

My husband is the same! His breakfast is not complete without a newspaper in his hands.

My parents still get a newspaper and read it. I remember them doing it when I was a kid. I think its nice to just get a newspaper and read it, despite there being other ways to get news nowadays. xo
