This showed up on my newsfeed a little while ago.The Times article references a terrorism bulletin from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security warning all Americans that:

“Information suggests that some ideologically motivated violent extremists with objections to the exercise of governmental authority and the presidential transition, as well as other perceived grievances fueled by false narratives, could continue to mobilize to incite or commit violence.”

Here is a copy of that DHS terrorism bulletin. Released today, the bulletin remains in effect through April 30th.

This situation is due to the crazy rhetoric of former-president Donald Trump, as well as his sycophants in the media as well as the GOP members of Congress who keep repeating the BIG LIE that Trump actually won the election in a landslide and that due to widespread voter fraud, Joe Biden stole the election from Donald Trump, the legitimate winner of the 2020 presidential election.

But here are the facts

  • Trump did not win
  • There was no widespread voter fraud
  • Joe Biden did not steal the election
  • Joe Biden, not Donald Trump, is the legitimate winner of the 2020 presidential election

And yet most Republicans in both the House and the Senate refuse to refute the BIG LIE. They refuse to tell their constituents, in no uncertain terms, that Joe Biden won a free and fair election. They refuse to take any steps that could help to defuse these potentially dangerous threats from Trump’s army of MAGA-maniacs. And some GOP members of Congress continue to reinforce the BIG LIE.

And as Trump is about to face an impeachment trial in the Senate, most Republican senators will vote against conviction, an action that gives further credence to the BIG LIE and further incites Trump’s MAGA-maniacs to violence.

How do they live with themselves?

    Is is just as confusing as the people who insanely state the holocaust never happened. Those people “drank the Kool Aid” . Maybe a shot of bleach will clear out the cobwebs???

        It’s become apparent that they not only can’t govern, they can’t win without cheating. Their problems become everyone’s existential problems.

        A Florida man who was an ardent supporter of former President Trump on Twitter was charged Wednesday with election interference after allegedly running a scam in 2016 that fooled thousands of people into believing they could vote via text message.

        In a press release, the Department of Justice (DOJ) announced the arrest of 31-year-old Douglass Mackey, who went by the name “Ricky Vaughn” on Twitter in several now-deleted accounts.

        The DOJ release details that Mackey allegedly conspired with others using Twitter to trick U.S. voters into believing they could cast valid ballots in the 2016 election via text message.

        “According to the allegations in the indictment, the defendant exploited a social media platform to infringe one the of most basic and sacred rights guaranteed by the Constitution: the right to vote,” said acting Assistant Attorney General Nicholas McQuaid in a statement. “This indictment underscores the department’s commitment to investigating and prosecuting those who would undermine citizens’ voting rights.”

        This is another truncated segment, but I want to share this latter half or so (wish I could share the whole piece). It began, live, with a return to election night at FOX (cable news)… and their calling of Arizona for Joe Biden. The editor didn’t know people would be so angry; he simply called the facts.

      As we discussed yesterday, House Republican leaders have meaningful options. McCarthy and his team could call for Greene’s expulsion from the U.S. House. They could also strip Greene of her committee assignments — which is precisely what McCarthy did to then-Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) two years ago, concluding at the time that the House Republican conference would no longer “tolerate” the Iowan’s record of racism.

      Greene was recently appointed to the House Education and Labor Committee. It’s an appointment GOP leaders could choose to revoke. Indeed, I’d be eager to hear McCarthy and other top House Republicans explain why Greene’s record of radicalism is less offensive than King’s.

      As for the possibility of expulsion, a rare move in which members vote to kick a colleague out of the House altogether, this would require a two-thirds majority. It’s likely Republicans would resist such a move, though it’s worth emphasizing that Greene represents one of the reddest districts in the United States — and if she were expelled, local voters would no doubt elect a Republican in her place.
