Weekend Writing Prompt — The Fate of the Enchantress

She was a ravishing beauty who commanded the attention of the town’s menfolk. With little effort, her success at garnering the admiration of their husbands alarmed the women of the town.

They gathered at the home of the most prominent among them, and they plotted how to betray her as a witch, for surely only witchcraft could so enchant their husbands.

One night, without warning, she was summoned to meet with the ladies at the old smelting factory on the fringe of town, where she was unceremoniously thrown into a crucible of boiling oil, never to be heard from again.

… so many things that could be said …
    such as …
men can’t help drooling after wisps of beauty, never realising how juvenile they look when behaving like a pack of dogs around a bitch in heat
    … or …
a few tips or asking for advice would get them better results, both in looks and in depth of friendships …
    but now …
they all have something they know of each other, that to kill isn’t beyond the bitterness of their surface affections …
and women who feel they own their men are the most dangerous women of all …
or was that the subtext of the story?

Woman can be quite vicious toward other women who they perceive as a threat. But so can men, I suppose.

Women can be vicious… this seems a tab bit extreme. Good story though.
