Truthful Tuesday — The Best of 2020

Frank, aka PCGuy, has published another one of his Truthful Tuesday posts. This week Frank accurately points out that for most of us, 2020 was a dumpster fire of a year. However, Frank posits that some good things may have occurred in 2020. So to that end Frank is simply asking us…

What is something positive that happened in 2020?

For me the answer is obvious. The most positive occurrence of 2020 was that my son and his wife had a baby boy, making my wife and me grandparents for the very first time. And they also just told us earlier this month that our daughter-in-law is pregnant again and their second child is due in August.

Other than that, though, Frank is right. 2020 was, indeed, a dumpster fire of a year.

That is really a great thing, to become grandparents.

Yayyy! That was my good thing too, though my 2020 grandson is my second grandbaby. Glad to see you’re catching up! 🤩

Wonderful Fandango. Something I will never know, not having children of my own, BUT I am a grandparent by default as all of my foster girls from the 80s now have children (not that I would know them or them me).

I don’t think any news is better than or even as good as that. And, in some ways, this is the very perfect time for your son and his wife to squeeze the demands of babyhood and even toddlerhood into their lives… if their jobs allow them to stay home.

Something positive that happened in 2020 was in my home city, Saint Louis. There has been sort of a dynasty of Clays for decades (half a century). But, this year, Cori Bush (a progressive woman, mother, and nurse) displaced “Lacy” (William Lacy Clay, Junior), son of “Bill” (who served right before his son), for United States congressperson from the first district.

My son works from home and his wife, a veterinarian, is taking some time away from her job at least until the pandemic is behind us.
