It sure can seem quixotic. I think some more enduring sensible safeguards could be communicated with more adept reassurance. Nevertheless, there is more contagion right now.

Well as we’ve found over here lock downs do work. Reducing movement seems to really help with containing the virus but of course you have a much larger population to deal with.

I actually agree with the lockdown. My frustration is that if we had done this sooner, rather than, as Trump did, calling it a hoax and downplaying it, we might have been over the hump by now, instead of being deep into third wave that is far worse than the first two waves were.

I agree. That is the mistake many countries have made either not locking down early enough or going back to normal too soon. You were particularly disadvantaged though.
