#100WW — The Annual Halloween Picnic

“I promise to get it done,” Bonnie said.

“You didn’t get the word out, yet?” Laurie said. “Halloween is just three days away. You said you’d disseminate the info to everyone that the picnic at the park this year is canceled due to the pandemic.”

“This whole virus thing is chilling to me,” Bonnie said. “So many sick, so many dying.”

“Well, it’s probably just as well, “Laurie said. “Everyone gets drunk and causes quite a fracas at this event, anyway.”

“Maybe this nightmare will end soon and we can return to our jocular selves again,” Bonnie said.

“Yeah, right.”

Great job including all of those prompts! The words are all so different but you tied them together really well.

I saw the same in this image – the empty parks and picnic tables. The irregularity of it all.

Some of us sit at home in an attempt to flatten the curve while others throw caution and science to the wind and gather in groups, unmasked without social distancing. With so many people sick and dying by this unseen virus, it’s unfathomable to me the flagrant disregard for others. The selfishness, self-centeredness, the president encourages.

Our only hope is Joe Biden wins the election tomorrow and brokers peace everyone doesn’t have to love, but could live with. Though, we likely won’t know how it will all shake out for months.

Thank you for joining us again this week, my writing friend 🖤

I’m hoping Biden will win and Trump will just go away with his tail between his legs.

Empty parks and playgrounds are just so sad.
