One-Liner Wednesday — Smile

“Start every day off with a smile and get it over with.”

W.C. Fields, American comedian, actor, and writer

That’s how I feel every morning when I wake up after I get a good night’s sleep. I stretch and smile. And then I remember that Donald Trump is still the president and I stop smiling.

Written for Linda G. Hill’s One-Liner Wednesday prompt.

It’s a difficult decision, to be informed or to be blissfully unaware. I choose the more painful path as well. I take breaks some days because I can’t rally stand it, though.

This is painfully – but perfectly – appropriate. Hopefully for not too much longer. Sigh.

Hopefully, you and I and many other Americans will begin to smile again come January.

There’s that one blissfully empty millisecond when I’m not wondering what he’s burned down overnight…that’s a sweet moment.

Yes. Too bad it only lasts for an instant.

I did smile a little bit dropping my absentee ballot in the drop off box at the courthouse today… my part is done for more smiles come January.
