Okay, when it comes to anything and everything Trump, I am definitely both cynical and skeptical. That’s why Lydia’s post resonated with me. Especially that prescient tweet from John Cammo on September 18th about Trump’s “October surprise.” Trump is so desperate I wouldn’t put anything beyond him, including announcing that he tested positive for COVID-19 even if that’s not true.

Call me a cynic if it makes you happy, but I’m not biting. A word from the horse’s ass: Mmm… really? Does Trump actually have COVID? Are we supposed …
I thought of that and a sympathy vote would be helpful to him. Ironic, but helpful. Sent from Yahoo Mail on Android

I figured he was semi intelligent and did not want to be in another debate. Timing is just too convenient. They broke in to the program I was watching to say he was being transported to the hospital just a bit ago because he has a fever. So he stays there until right before the election and says, see it was just a flu. Too slimy for words.

Shockingly sad that this is the first response of so many of us: to doubt the veracity of such a statement.

Yes, but totally understandable, given the BS that comes from the White House.

It’s a shame that we cannot trust even the most basic of things like a health update on the president. Four years of this madness have taught me to question everything.

Yes, this is so far from normal that it’s almost unimaginable.

I was skeptical at first—there’s reason to be, for sure—but I’ve read other commentaries that I found more persuasive bc this is his Achilles heel: it’s the last thing he wants to be the one to legitimize that the virus is real. And he sure looked like hell walking to the helicopter.
I don’t believe the Walter Reed physicians will lie for him. We’ll learn more.

You may be right. But he’s such a schemer that it still could be a big con job.

I’m getting tired of this nonsense about his health now. Why is everything so chaotic all the time? You can’t even believe what doctors are saying now 😡

I know. Especially the White House doctors.

We’ve had no news of his children and the freaky spouse Kushner. Do you think they’ve all got Covid and they’re keeping it quiet?

I wouldn’t be surprised. After all, Kellyanne Conway and Trump’s press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, have tested positive. How could his children not?

Yrs it has been suspiciously quiet.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/it-s-insane-white-house-staff-are-mad-about-trump-s-diagnosis-and-terrified-now-that-he-s-back-from-hospital-while-still-infected-reports-say/ar-BB19KIT2
……….
CNN reported that the number of residence staffers working there had been reduced since Trump’s diagnosis and that Trump’s workspace had been changed to try to keep him away from staffers and out of the West Wing.
But those still working in the White House said they feared getting infected themselves, either because Trump is still infected or because the virus has already made it into the White House.
The Washington Post noted that many staffers work there for decades and are older — and hence more vulnerable to developing a serious case of COVID-19.
One White House staff member told The Atlantic that the fallout from Trump’s infection was “a huge mess.”
He said he found out from news reports, rather than an internal announcement, that Trump and first lady Melania Trump had tested positive.
He added that as other administration officials tested positive, he was “just waiting and worried for my friends and their families.”
A host of White House officials have tested positive since Trump’s diagnosis was made public last Friday, including Trump’s confidants, the press secretary, and Secret Service officials.
And The Post reported that the White House did not deploy a contact-tracing team of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention experts to try to stop the virus from spreading further.
“I find it disturbing [that] people are being put at risk who really don’t have a choice,” Bill Yosses, a former White House pastry chef, told The Atlantic.
He added: “They have families, they have mortgages, they have kids in school. I would hope that every effort is being made to protect their health, their families’ health.”
Sam Kass, who was the head chef for the Obamas for six years, told The Post: “I know that people in there are scared.
“I’m sure that they are concerned about their own lives and their families and feel very torn about balancing their responsibilities to their country, as they see it, and putting themselves in harm’s way.”
Stephanie Grisham, Melania Trump’s spokeswoman, told The Post that “every precaution is being taken to keep residence staff safe and healthy.”
Former first lady Michelle Obama on Tuesday tweeted her support for White House staffers.
“My heart goes out to everyone touched by this virus, from those at the White House, especially the Secret Service and residence staff whose service ought never be taken for granted, to all those names and stories most of us will unfortunately never know,” she wrote.

Stephanie Grisham, the first lady’s spokeswoman, said Monday that “all precautions are being taken to ensure the health and safety of the residence staff,” but she declined to provide specifics.
Tuesday, her office released a memo outlining extensive health and safety precautions that have been put in place in the executive residence, including adopting hospital-grade disinfection policies, encouraging “maximum teleworking” and installing additional sanitization and filtration systems. Residence staff in direct contact with the first family are tested daily and support staff are tested every 48 hours. And since the president and Mrs. Trump tested positive, staff have been wearing “full PPE.”
I’m not sure I believe that, with the “loose cannon” walking around.
I noticed Hogan Gidley referenced in the article, too. That joker, elsewhere, not in the article, has said Donald modeled proper mask and other behavior “at every turn.”
