The Point of No Return

The collapse of the republic
Is happening right before or eyes
There is chaos in the streets
A disproportionate response
From the man who would be king
Leading to a society in which
Cultures collide
And from which there will be
No exit

Some believe this is but
A temporary aberration
Yet I see no way out
It’s inexorable
We’ve reached
The point of no return

Interesting that I was thinking this morning of the Song, “Eve of Destruction” written by P. F. Sloan in mid-1964.

And 56 years later, we, once again, are on the eve of destruction.

I’m not sure we’re at that point yet, but it’s not much further.

When I was 14 a girl cut my face up and her friend tried to kick my head in while I was down. She didn’t like ‘ the way I looked aka- the color of my skin’. That was over 40 years ago. Nothing has changed except for the players. We can either find a way to survive this or give up. I’ve come to far to quit now.

I hope there is a way to survive this insanity. Even though I feel as if I’ve lost hope, I agree, we can’t quit trying.

Yes it is. You know, we went through the 60s and 70s and we saw all that impressive legislation and now, we got Trump. How bad can it get? A lot worse!

I feel the point of no return is near, but I HAVE TO hold onto a little hope that it is not over yet. A well written poem Fandango!

      Thanks. Unfortunately, I’ve lost hope.
