Carry Me Away

BreezeAs I lie upon my bed
My bedroom window open
I hear the din of the city
And I wish a zephyr breeze
Would pick me up
And carry me away
To a new terrain
To a distant land
Of peace and serenity
Although I suppose
No matter where I end up
I shall never escape
Being me

Written for these daily prompts: The Daily Spur (bedroom), Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (din), Ragtag Daily Prompt (zephyr), Word of the Day Challenge (terrain), and Your Daily Word Prompt (suppose).

As I was reading this, I had a vision of Munch’s “The Scream”. That seems appropriate, if “there’s no escape being me”

I don’t know that I’d call them poems. Just short, choppy sentences with little to no punctuation.
