Share Your World — Wizardry and Honesty

Share Your WorldOnce again, Melanie is sharing her Share Your World prompt this week with Roger Shipp. Roger’s questions focus on Harry Potter stuff, while Melanie’s are more traditional SYW questions.

Let’s get started with Roger’s Harry Potter Questions.

You have just been gifted a magic wand that specializes in completing household chores. You can request the completion of only two household chores. Which chores would you assign your wand to complete?

Cooking meals and cleaning the pots, pans, and dishes afterwards.

At the local Wizards-R-Us store there was a sale on handshake shockers, instant darkness pellets, and levitation pills. Which of these ‘party thrillers’ are you more likely to purchase?

I’ve had recurring dreams in the past about being able to fly and I’ve always been disappointed when I woke up and realized that I’m earthbound. So without hesitation, I’d choose levitation pills.

In the alley behind Wizards-R-Us, there was a tradesman selling a Love Potion. The sales pitch was too much for you and you yielded and purchased one vial. What do you do with it?

I have a hard and fast rule to never, ever buy something from anyone selling anything from an alley. Even a love potion.

You are the Great Clearinghouse Winner of a new ‘good luck’ potion – Felix Felicis. It has to be used within the next thirty days or its potency becomes diminished. Do you use it? Do you give it to a friend in need?

I suppose I’d use it right before I go out and buy a multi-million dollar lottery ticket. Then, if I won a huge sum of money, I would give some of it to that friend in need. I’d say that’s a win-win situation, right?

And now for Melanie’s questions.

If everyone spoke their mind, would this world be a better or worse place?  Why?

I think it would be great, in my opinion, if people could be totally honest in everything they say and do. But I think a lot of people would be seriously pissed off about it.

Can achieving nothing make a person happy?

Sure, if your goal in life is to achieve nothing.

How do you know if you love someone enough to marry them?

When you feel that your existence would be incomplete without that person being your life partner.

Great answers Fandango and thanks for Sharing Your World! So unlike John Holton, you wouldn’t buy that love potion and take a sip? Well you’d stay out of jail….. heh..

My answers for the first question!

    #1 DUSTING

#2 I was going to say cleaning toilets for the generous inclusion of another choice. But if I could say “cleaning bathrooms” (toilets included), even better. In fact, I’d for sure say bathrooms instead of just toilets. Otherwise, there’d still be the floor (and walls) around the toilets to (sometimes) clean. I suppose, though, that wouldn’t be so much of an inconvenience if one knew the toilet was already clean.

If… I didn’t have… a large shelving… unit, in my dining room, that isn’t enclosed (which would keep dust off)… my second choice would be my first. Well, no; as I thought that into typing actually I still like the idea of not having to clean blinds, curtain tops, fans, and the top edges of door and window frames, etcetera. Even nice upholstered chairs. Dust be gone.

I too often dream of flying, floating actually. It’s freeing.

I like your win-win solution to the good luck. And I think that is a very wise policy to not buy things in an alley!
