“But it’s such a great song.” Henry said. “I look forward to listening to it every day, It holds so much promise, it’s uplifting, and, just like in the song, I’m a lover and a dreamer.”
Karen rolled her eyes. “I hate that song. It’s so sugary sweet and then you’ve got that stupid yawp, yawp, yawping of a green puppet frog who is part of a group of stuffed animal puppets. It’s awful.”
“Well clearly, Karen,” Henry said, “You’re not a dreamer or a lover and you will never find your pot of gold at the end of a rainbow if you can’t even see the rainbow in the first place.”
Written for Paula Light’s Thursday Inspiration prompt, where the theme is “sugar.” (I used “sugary.”) Also for these daily prompts: Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (nerd), Word of the Day Challenge (rainbow), Ragtag Daily Prompt (connection), Jibber Jabber (forward), Your Daily Word Prompt (yawp), and The Daily Spur (group).
