Fandango’s Dog Days of August #26

Fandango’s Dog Days of AugustDo you need a muse to get your creative juices flowing during these hot, sultry days of August? Try a dose of Fandango’s Dog Days of August prompt.

At 6:00 am Pacific time each day this month, I will be posting a new theme. Today’s theme is “your favorite quote.” It can be inspirational, funny, sarcastic, or just something someone said that resonates with you. What is your favorite quote? Who said it and why is it your favorite? Or defining the word “quote” a bit differently, maybe your favorite quote is one you received from a contractor to do some work on your home or your car. Share a story, a poem, a photo, a drawing, some music, or whatever you wish to share about your favorite quote.

If you wish to participate, please write your post, use the tag #FDDA, and create a pingback to this post or manually add your link in the comments.

And, of course, take some time to read the other responses to this prompt. See how other bloggers are coping with the dog days of August.

First they came for the socialists…

Poetic beginning of a Holocaust Memorial
    version of a Niemöller confession.

Why is that the saying? Because they did.

Someone in the news said this in the last month or so.

My third-favorite saying: There is no spoon.

My resonance with it has nothing to do with bending spoons or wishful thinking.

        Second favorite saying: Wake up!

Neo Wakes Up in the Real World

There’s a song/poem/piece of rap music by the name of the “saying.”

Behind the main lyrics, at a latter part of the piece, there is some history and reaction to it:

        …. I think I heard a shot.

Subtext: Through counterintelligence, it should be possible to … neutralize them.

Who put the price on his hheaaad?

Favorite “quote” and second and third favorites — not “saying.”
