“I think,” Grace said, “that the saying is all that glitters is not gold.”

“Well, they connote the same thing, don’t they?” Steve said.

“All that slivers is not silver? That doesn’t even make any sense,” Grace said.

“It sounds right to me,” Steve said defensively. “After all, snakes sliver and snakes are silver, but not all snakes are silver.”

“That’s quite a stretch, Steve,” Grace said.

“As they say, Grace,” Steve said, “he who stretches last stretches best.”
